The annual event - which returns on Friday, August 30 - invites students and other guests to visit the Verto centre and meet with tradies to discuss their experiences and get answers to questions about their trade occupations.
Fifteen businesses will hold stalls at the event covering an array of trades from electrician to beautician.

"The Meet the Tradies Open Day is a great way for senior students who are contemplating their post school journey to find out more about alternative career paths," Verto CEO Ron Maxwell said.
The event is a part of Skills Week 2019. Skills Week is an annual initiative promoted by the Australian Government to show the available career pathways to young people and display the value of apprentices and trainees across Australia.

This year's Skills Week has a particular emphasis on highlighting opportunities for Indigenous Australians and workers with disabilities. Skills Week also hopes to encourage to encourage women to get into non-traditional trades such as building and construction.
Guests at Meet The Tradies day will also be able to explore Verto's facilities and meet with representatives from the apprenticeship, training employment and disability sectors of the organisation.
