Babies, toddlers and preschoolers were all delighted when they received a book at Raglan Public School's Education Week celebrations.
Since 2013 the school has been surprising the little people in this community by presenting them with a book as part of the Raglan Readers program.
Raglan Readers was established many years ago and has been reinvigorated by the school's Learning Support officer and P & C life member, Michelle Urquhart.
Michelle said developing a love of reading early was one of the best ways to ensure children were successful and engaged students when they arrive at school.
"Spreading an awareness of the importance of reading is vital. This small act of kindness is always appreciated by our families and the more kindness you can put out in the world the more you can expect to come back."
Enjoying their books are the Carter family of Raglan, who have been associated with the school for six years. Bianca Carter enrolled Jett in kindergarten in 2014. Max into Year 4 and Indi into Year 2. They all received books before they started school. They were very excited to see their youngest brother Beau receive a book at school on Tuesday morning as part of the Book Week parade. Rome received his book in 2017.
The hardworking P & C of Raglan Public supports this reading program by purchasing the books for the children and helping to spread the love of reading throughout the school.
