Everyone at Carenne School was looking forward to Education Week this year.
Established in 1957, the school has been helping children in their community to learn and achieve vital life goals to help them as they progress to independence.
With that in mind, students at Carenne School chose to help others in need as part of the Random Acts of Kindness philosophy that was part of Education Week activities.
The theme "Every Student, Every Voice' resonated among students and teachers alike with the school being represented at the opening of Bathurst Education Week by their school captains. Will and Aiden as well as Noah, who was the compere for the event and Montana who gave a speech about why she loves her school.
An Education Week assembly was held where students who show commitment and application to their schooling were recognised. Some of their amazing staff were also thanked for the great work they do.
The students at Carenne School chose the Bathurst Uniting Safe Shelter for their random act of kindness. The students enjoying making and packaging some biscuits for the men as well as decorating their space with some lovely student artwork.
To brighten up their outdoor area they also potted some plants to hang on the new fence.
Thank you to the Safe Shelter for providing a safe, warm bed for those who need it in our community
