Throughout Education Week, the students and teachers from Bathurst West Public School were out and about, spreading joy and celebrating this special community through acts of kindness.
They had lovely conversations with everyone they met and worked with during Education Week. It let to a greater understanding of their place within the community and how important it is for everyone to be kind and generous and to act with gratitude. All the children were so happy and engaged to have their voices heard.
Bathurst West students delivered chocolates and beautifully written letters of thanks to a range of emergency services, brightening their day and letting them know that they are appreciated for everything they do.
The local police, ambulance, fire brigade and SES were all grateful for the kindness and positive feedback, and some of the children were even made honorary SES volunteers for a day.
Year 6 students visited West Bathurst Preschool and Balance Early Education to spend time with and to read to their gorgeous children. Senior students really enjoyed the responsibility and chance to do something special for the younger members of the community. It was hard to work out who was having the better time.
A big Bathurst West thanks goes out to everyone in the community - together we make Bathurst such a special place to live and grow.
