THE Bathurst crash investigation unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a female cyclist near Gulgong today.

Police said two cyclists were riding along Spring Creek Road at Yarrawonga, about 12km from Gulgong, about 9am on Saturday when a utility and the female cyclist collided, knocking her to the ground.
The 52-year-old woman died at the scene. Her male companion was not injured.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The driver and sole occupant of the utility, a 39-year-old man, was taken to hospital suffering shock.
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District established a crime scene and the Bathurst crash investigation unit was called to the scene.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may have dashcam footage, to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
