That was until a header from Jess Gostellow in the closing stages of injury time took victory from CSU in round 19 of the Bathurst District Football Women's Premier League.
With the 1-all result, Panorama keep their record intact heading into the final two rounds of the season.
CSU hit the front in the first quarter of the match courtesy of a goal from Sarah Evans and almost held on to be the first team to defeat Panorama this season, but it wasn't to be.
"We were in front for probably three quarters of the match after a goal for Sarah Evans," CSU coach Ryan Burgoyne said.
"It was a scrappy start to the game, especially with the heavy winds but things were looking good and we thought we would finally be the first team to beat Panorama.
"Then we had 13 minutes of injury time after Maddi Gallegos dislocated her knee and then with only about 30 seconds to go they scored, so it was pretty disheartening to not win after being in front for so long."

Gallegos badly collided with CSU's Riley Smith in a tackle just in front of goal, causing a 15 minute stoppage for treatment and resulted in the former being taken off the field.
CSU have no chance to chase down Panorama on the ladder and the students now have to look out behind them.
"We have a bye next week so we are really hoping that we can keep a hold of second spot on the ladder," Burgoyne said.
"If we do, we will meet Panorama in the prelim final and take it to them and hopefully win."
It was in fact the preliminary final last season that saw Panorama last lose a game, an undefeated streak lasting an entire year now.
Panorama have a great for and against record, scoring 102 goals this season while only conceding 14, with CSU one of the teams able to crack their defence.
"It really helps when you have fantastic players like Sarah Evans and Emily Thurlow who just put on so much constant pressure to the other teams," Burgoyne said.
"We were able to get through their defence, forcing a lot of errors and just raise the pressure and that is really good."
The final four heading into the finals looks set with Panorama, CSU and Eglinton all sealing a spot, however fourth place is still up for grabs between Mudgee, Macquarie and Millthorpe.
Only one point separate Mudgee and Macquarie, with Millthorpe needing a miracle to advance to finals.
If the top four stay the same, CSU appear in good shape heading to the knockouts.
"We have come close to beating Panorama so there is no reason we can't get close again," Burgoyne said.
"Eglinton are the next strongest team, and this season we have had all three results against them, a win, a draw and a loss.
"Mudgee are also strong so it'll be a good fight."
