The Bathurst Regional Access Committee (BRAC) has been in discussions with council over creating such a facility and has been told that three outlets will be made available at the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre.

Access committee chairman Bob Triming explained that the recharge outlets are essentially your average power point.
The key difference is that outlets need to be raised off the ground by about a metre and need to have adequate space around them to allow for wheelchairs to get close enough. Signage is also needed to ensure the outlets are reserved for people with wheelchairs.
It sounds like a simple concept, but it can make a big difference.
"Half an hour will give you a good 20 minutes or more power, but that depends on the size charger ... that's enough to get them out of strife," Mr Triming said.
"They may be a very minor addition, but they are an important one to some of us."
The visitor information centre plans to make two charging points available inside and have a third located outside.
Mr Triming said the support from the manager of the visitor information centre, Dan Cove, and council had been fantastic.
He hopes that council will look at providing additional recharge points in the future in other parts of Bathurst.
"I'd like to see all of council's tourist venues with a recharge point, as well as all of the shopping centres at least," he said.
"We'd like to see one at the library as well, external, because there is a lovely place to sit out there, especially now they've got disabled tables there."
The recharge outlets are expected to also aid tourism if they are promoted.
Disability tourism in Australia is worth over $12 billion annually and Mr Triming said facilities like dedicated wheelchair recharge outlets give Bathurst another point of difference.
