Assumption is committed to developing each student academically, socially, physically, culturally, emotionally and spiritually. For academic growth the school follows a coordinated and collaborative grade-based program in all key learning areas. This ensures that similar learning opportunities are available for all students.
Spiritually, the students are taught the importance of respecting themselves and others. In 2019 the school theme is SHINE and apart from themselves, the students are encouraged to be a light to the world, through their relationships with others leaving a spark wherever they go.
School Masses and liturgies provide opportunities to gather as a school community. The Feast of the Assumption Mass, celebrated by Bishop Michael McKenna, was a perfect example of the community coming together to pray, followed by a shared lunch experience then attending a band and choir concert. A similar experience happened earlier this term at the Grandparents' Mass and open classrooms.
