Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing announced on Monday that the second-biggest day on the Tyers Park calendar will be making the move to spring.
The date change, to September 29 this season, is just one of several major changes announced by BTR for the showcase meeting.
The club will be introducing a new 1300m race called 'The Panorama', targeted at those country horses preparing for The Kosciusko.
Bathurst's meeting comes 20 days before the running of The Kosciusko which makes Tyers Park well positioned to play host to some classy sprinters.
It's hoped that moving the meeting to a time where many punters and fans have their "head in racing" will benefit the club.
"This is such a good concept to tie it in with the Kosciusko. There's an additional $10,000 in prizemoney that the club is putting forward for our race, which is extra incentive, and should get us some good fields on the day," Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing manager Michell Tarpenning said.

"We've been working closely with Racing NSW to come up with the concept of The Panorama. We're excited about it.
"There's going to be music, VIP areas, food vendors and face painting so it can be a real family day. It's on a Sunday this year so we're really hoping that we can make something of it for everybody.
"Dave Stanley from TAB will be our MC for the day and we had him on board for the Bathurst Cup this year and he's a fountain of information and a really great guy as well."
The unique programming for the Bathurst Cup meeting will see country trained horses first balloted and be 63kg guaranteed regardless of benchmark rating.
Ray White Emms Mooney have come on board as the major sponsors for the Bathurst Cup.
The meeting will also be raising funds for Daffodil Cottage.
The Bathurst Cup has often drawn provincial and metro trainers to the city. The Gai Waterhouse-trained Chocolatier took out March's edition of the Bathurst Cup as favourite.
