Owners Grahame and Marleen Spurway built the motel in 2003 as a 22-room inn. Since then they have expanded to nearly 30 rooms, three self-contained heritage cottages and 18 deluxe studios.
The Heritage Motor Inn lays claim to being the number one traveller-ranked motel in Bathurst on websites such as TripAdvisor, Booking.com and Trivago.

Manager Lisa Battersby says the Heritage Motor Inn has set itself apart from the field and credited the hard work of the staff.
"We have a friendly staff and extremely hard-working housekeepers that put a lot of effort in," Ms Battersby said.
Certificate of Excellence recipients make up just 10 per cent of all listings on TripAdvisor. The certificate is given for maintaining a customer review rating of four-and-a-half stars or above.
Establishments that have received a Certificate of Excellence for five years in a row go into the Hall of Fame.
