In keeping with the theme for this year's Book Week, Reading is My Secret Power, many students attended school dressed as popular comic book superheroes.
St Philomena's School principal Louise Davies said the week-long celebration inspires students to embrace the love of reading.
"There's nothing better than submerging yourself in a good story," Ms Davies said.
"It's inspiring to see the students and teachers dress up as their favourite characters and celebrate the wonders of literature."
The students put together a parade for their parents and grandparents and a book fair took place in the school's library.
"Our Year 6 students also organised a series of 'power games' in the afternoon for students and parents to participate in," Ms Davies said.
"The activities took inspiration from some of the students' favourite books, and kept everyone entertained."
