AN interim personal violence order taken out by Bathurst deputy mayor Bobby Bourke against Michael Griffiths, of Havannah Street, will remain in place until the matter goes to hearing.

Mr Griffiths opposed the application in Bathurst Local Court on Monday.
Both parties were present before magistrate Cate Follent on Monday. The matter will be back before the court on September 30 for a compliance check.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Cr Bourke applied for an AVO against Mr Griffiths after an alleged altercation in a Bathurst newsagency on August 8.
The pair appeared at Bathurst Local Court last Monday, August 19 when the matter was adjourned to today.
While the interim order is in place, Mr Griffiths is not allowed to stalk, harass, intimidate or damage the property of Cr Bourke.
He is also not to approach or contact Cr Bourke unless through a lawyer.
