A BATHURST man tragically killed in a truck crash on the state's north coast has been remembered as a "gentleman" of the NSW transport industry.

Dane Ballinger, 36, died when the B-double he was driving on the Pacific Highway near Nambucca Heads crashed into a parked B-double about 5am on Wednesday.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash just south of Nambucca.

Police said one of the B-doubles was parked in a designated stopping bay on the northbound side of the highway prior to the crash.
The driver from the parked truck was not hurt.
Mr Ballinger was a popular figure in the local and NSW transport industry and was an organiser of the Bathurst Truck Show.
Many of his friends in the industry took to social media on Wednesday to honour Mr Ballinger and to offer their condolences to his family and friends.
A post from Huntingwood truck dealership Gilbert & Roach said "today, we lost one of our own".
"Dane was a gentleman and a true ambassador of our industry, always smiling and a young man that was part of the future of our industry," the post read.
"Our thoughts are with his family and his community at this time."
The Penrith Working Truck Show called Mr Ballinger "an iconic figure of the transport industry".
"We will always appreciate Dane for his unwavering support," the post said.
Mr Ballinger started his own trucking company, Ballinger Transport, in Bathurst in 2004.
