The chefs at Vine & Tap have planned a 'top secret' five-course menu incorporating a variety of Italian cheeses.
Each course will be accompanied by a Renzaglia Wines product matched specifically to the respective dish.
Vine & Tap co-owner Trish Marino said the degustation will provide a creative batch of dishes with distinct Italian flavours.
"Our regular menu focuses on providing traditional Italian flavours in a contemporary fashion, and this event will feature five unique courses incorporating various types of cheese," Ms Marino said.
"The featured courses aren't on our regular menu, and we've had a great response from the community thus far."
Vine & Tap co-owner Stephen Swart said a degustation event has been on the radar since the venue opened in late 2017.
"Each region of Italy specialises in a different style of cheese, and we wanted to put together a menu reflecting the diversity of Italian cuisine," Mr Swart said.
"We sat down with Sam [Renzaglia, winemaker] to ensure each dish had the perfect type of wine to complement it."
Mr Renzaglia said the type of cheese plays a significant role in determining the right combination.
"Curd-based cheeses go really well with white wine varieties while richer, harder variants can stand up to the heaviest of reds," he said.
"The beauty of wine and cheese lies in the endless number of ways the two products complement each other, and I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favourite."
Mr Renzaglia said the event will feature a significant variety of the vineyard's top wines, including a sneak peak at the new Stone Wall Nuovo blend.
"I've seen the menu, and I'm eager to see what people make of all the different combinations," he said.
"The event will be a great opportunity to explore the synergy of food and wine."
