Marketing manager Jann van der Sterren said the club has been on the lookout for a suitable recycling system since The Grind opened three years ago.
"Ever since we opened we've been actively looking for a solution to coffee cup waste," she said.
One option already implemented by the club were keep cups, where clients use their own cup, and while that system has been popular, the club was still eager to reduce its footprint on the environment.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"We were still seeing so many single use, take away coffee cups being used, we wanted to do something to cut down on the waste," Ms van der Sterren said.
"We looked at composting but it's still single use and still going into landfill.
"When we saw the solution being offered by Detpak, we jumped at it.
"Detpak has created a system where the cup itself is made with up to 51 per cent less plastic than the standard plastic lined cup, making it easier to recycle.
"Detpak has provided a RecycleMe collection station where we collect the cups and arrange for them to be sent for recycling."
The recycled coffee cups are turned into office paper, which can then be re-used up to seven times.
Ms van der Sterren said the Bathurst RSL was the only business in Bathurst at this stage to have implemented this system.
"So if people have forgotten their Reusable Cup and don't want to contribute to landfill, this is a great option," she said.
"Any of our cups that are branded on the bottom of the cup with the RecycleMe logo can be brought back to The Grind and we'll make sure it's taken for recycling."
General manager, Peter Sargent, said while the system is relatively new the feedback from clients has been amazing.
"We are really excited to finally have a solution [to cut down on waste]."
Mr Sargent said Detpak is the only company in Australia capable of recycling coffee cups.
"Unless it's one of these cups, your cup is going into landfill," he said.
"That's the reality; even combustible cups go into landfill."
