DAVID Lilly was definitely seeing the ball with 20/20 vision during last Thursday's A grade par event at the Bathurst Golf Club.
His brilliant score of +8 saw him finish three strokes clear of Kevin Callaughan. Terry Staines was third on + 3 and the scratch went to Mike Stanford with a wonderful score of two under par.
Paul Soetens was atop of the B grade leaderboard as a solid +5 kept him ahead of Grant Bowman (+4) and Paul Rosconi (+3), while Phil Thompson was the scratch victor on -9.
Lilly was ably supported by Darrell Bourke in compiling +11 to win the 2BBB from Jim Schumacher and Glyn Daunt. Guns pairing Phil Campbell and Robert Payne (+3) came away with the scratch prize.
Bitter conditions on Saturday saw a smaller field hit the links with scoring quite low. Jason Writer was first past the post in A grade courtesy of 35 points to win on a countback over Peter Wray. Third position went to Alan Sillett (34) and the scratch was signed off by Mick Locke with 27 points.
Bob Dillon and Sauro Gregori tied at the top of B grade thanks to a score of 36 points, but in the end Dillon was the winner on a countback. Dean Fidirikkos (35) wrapped up third and Alex Thompson (17) took the scratch honours.
Daph Williams handled the renovated greens well on Tuesday to fire 37 points to win division one from Chris Burke (35), while Phillipa Thompson's great score of 39 captured division two by two shots over Norma Johnston. Yvonne Stapleton (35) was triumphant in division three as she held off Judy Brownlow by two strokes.
