Judging from the results, it's fair to say the community is divided on the issue.
As of Sunday afternoon, 62 respondents had voted in favour of greater action on climate change, while 49 were against the notion and one was unsure.
The statistics may represent a minuscule percentage of Bathurst's population, but with such a mixed array of comments online, Parade can only deduce there's a unique furore surrounding the topic of climate change.
And both sides provide interesting arguments.
Those in favour of greater climate action refer to the research of climate scientists, most of whom have attained university degrees to study subjects such as weather patterns and environmental trends.
On the other hand, skeptics of climate change claim the weather is forever changing, and criticise the other side for spreading panic and fear about Earth's future.
Parade has deduced one thing both sides have in common: a love of arguing with each other online on their respective points of view.
It's easy to share conflicting points of view online, but need it be so difficult to seek out a productive conversation in person with someone who stands in disagreement to your opinion?
One month until the great race
This time next month, the biggest event on the Supercars Championship calendar will have the Bathurst region in full racing swing.
The Bathurst 1000 will see more than four times the region's population converge on Mount Panorama for four days of supercharged motor racing action.
MORE NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
As a resident of Bathurst for nearly 26 years, Parade has fond memories of the 'Great Race,' such as Greg Murphy and Marcos Ambrose's heated argument after a big accident in the closing stages of the 2005 event.
The big question this year is whether defending champion Craig Lowndes will take out an eighth title, which will put him one away from his mentor, the late Peter Brock.
