A warm spring afternoon provided a desirable backdrop for the Rotary Club of Bathurst's Great Duck Race at the Macquarie River yesterday.

The event saw 27 local businesses compete in the corporate section, as well as 115 in the public race.
A photo finish in the corporate section saw Inland Digital place first, with Bathurst Regional Council and Automate Car Servicing close behind in second and third respectively.
Inland Digital director Lawrence Breen said it was humbling to take top honours in the event after falling agonisingly short in the last few years.
"We've run a duck in the corporate section since it was introduced in 2017, so it's awesome to finally score a win," Mr Breen said.
"The Rotary Club of Bathurst do a fantastic job in supporting the local community, and we enjoy taking part in this event each year."
Another tight contest was fought in the public section, with Sally Hennessy finishing first, Stephanie Cook placing second and Jessica McKean coming in third.
The event raised approximately $8500, with proceeds set to go towards the Uniting Safe Shelter [USS].
"The USS has done an outstanding job in a few short months stepping up for the less fortunate members of the community," Rotary Club of Bathurst president Sharyn Semmens said.
"A lot of organisations have thrown their support behind the USS' cause, and they've certainly filled a gap in the local community in terms of providing temporary accommodation."
On average, the USS caters for three guests a night.
