The highway had been closed in both directions between Station Street and Sinclair Crescent.
The Transport Management Centre have advised that local diversions for light vehicles have now been lifted.
Emergency services remain at the scene of the crash, so exercise caution and follow directions of crews.
Motorists are also advised to drive to the conditions and continue to allow extra travel time.

A MAN died after a two-vehicle crash in the Blue Mountains in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The Great Western Highway remains closed in both directions and diversions are in place westbound and eastbound on Station Street and Sinclair Crescent.
Heavy vehicles are being diverted to the Darling Causeway, Bells Line of Road, Castlereagh Road, Mulgoa Road and the M4 Motorway.

Just after 2am, emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway near Pritchard Street, Wentworth Falls, following reports a truck and car collided.
The driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
The male truck driver was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
