Earlier this month she booted four goals in the grand final for the Bathurst Giants as they won their maiden Central West AFL premiership with a 7-8-50 to 4-1-25 result against the Bathurst Lady Bushrangers.
That came a year after the Giants suffered a narrow loss to the Dubbo Demons on grand final day - a match in which Lane also got her name on the scoresheet.
"It was a good win, it was amazing to play alongside those girls, we stepped up so much after the loss in the grand final last year against Dubbo. Considering it's only our second year of playing, it's a massive achievement to come out as premiers," she said.
"I was extremely proud with those goals, especially as it's only my second year of playing. I feel like it's a massive accomplishment as I didn't have any previous kicking experience being a netballer."
Those four goals in the decider iced what had been a stand out season inside 50 for the Giants full forward. She booted 23 majors in the regular season to not only top the leading goal-kicker list for her club, but the entire women's competition.
"It was definitely unexpected, I've worked extremely hard, I really struggled with getting the AFL kicking technique down-pat at the start," Lane said.
"I've played netball for basically all my life, since I was five-years-old, so going over to a contact sport was very nerve-racking. But I'm glad I did, my passion for that sport has only grown.
"Between netball and AFL I've found a lot of similarities with the movement, it's just that contact part. It's just getting in there and getting that body-on-body contact, it's just great."
It is netball which now holds Lane's focus and again it will be an attacking one given she plays as a goal shooter.
Lane has previously won Bathurst Netball Association A grade titles with City Colts and Bulldogs, but come Saturday afternoon she will be aiming for one with Panthers.
"My first ever game I played in A grade when I was 14-years-old was for Panthers, that was with players like Di Coombes, Kristin Rouland and Jodie Ryan as our coach," she said.
"This is the first year I've come back to play with them since."
Lane and her Panthers team-mates will be up against defending premiers Collegians Mystified in the grand final.
They enjoy a good rivalry, with Collegians winning their first encounter of the season 50-44, while Panthers squared the ledger in the last round with a 52-47 result and backed that up with a 46-36 win in the major semi-final.
While Lane and goal attack Jess Matthews form a formidable combination for Panthers, she knows adding a netball premiership to her Central West AFL triumph will not be easy.
"It's going to be a very tough and well contested game, hopefully the weather holds off as it's meant to rain on Saturday. It will be a big challenge, but fingers crossed I can come out with two premierships," she said.
"It's another week another challenge. They've stepped up phenomenally ... the growth of them as a team is great, Melissa Noonan has done a fantastic job coaching the girls."
