For the first time since the competition's inception back in 1990-91 - it was known as the Bonnor Cup then and was a 40-over competition - games are set to be played in Bathurst as well as at Orange's Wade Park.
While ODCA president Mark Frecklington did clarify the move isn't 100 per cent confirmed due to a few logistical issues, he said it's likely the former city will host two clashes in the final round of preliminary games, on January 25.
He also confirmed the ODCA's plan is to open the 2019-20 edition, which will feature the same nine teams as last summer, with a full, blockbuster round of Twenty20 showdowns.
"There's been a couple of changes from the initial draw, and it's not completely locked in yet but that is what we're looking to move forward with," he said.

Those changes came on Thursday morning with the re-addition of the Lithgow Lightning, the 2016-17 champions weren't included in the initial draw release but Frecklington confirmed they have in fact nominated and will front again.
While the reorganised and confirmed draw is expected to be released in the coming days, all eyes will be firmly focused on Bathurst District Cricket Association heavyweights St Pat's Old Boys regardless of who they face.
The Saints came back into the competition for the first time since its change to the Twenty20 format last summer and promptly went on to win it, the triumph largely inspired by eventual Carl Sharpe Medal winner Nic Broes.
However they may not have his services this summer unless it comes as a guest player - with all sides still afforded the chance to field one per game - as the rumour mill has been abuzz with suggestions of a move to Sydney.
Bathurst City and Centennials Bulls - the 2017-18 grand final combatants - will also return for this year's competition, along with all five of the ODCA's top-flight clubs in Orange City, CYMS, Cavaliers, Kinross and Centrals.
Orange City were bested by the Saints in last year's decider, going down by 23 runs, and will be gunning to earn redemption and also snap their grand final losing streak.
The Warriors have consistently been Orange's most powerful side since winning the inaugural Twenty20 edition back in 2012-13, but that's reaped little reward outside that initial title.
Including last year's they've featured in three grand finals since that first-up triumph and gone done in all of them, falling the Cavaliers the year after and then the Lightning three summers ago.
This summer Royal Hotel Cup matches are expected to return to a 6.30pm start, with the top four finishing sides to contest finals, which are expected to begin on January 31.
