WHEN the rain arrived in Saturday's Bathurst Netball Association A grade grand final it did its best to ground the Collegians and Panthers' offences to a halt.

However, the Collegians defence stayed at the top of its game, thanks to a huge game from goal defence Teagan Germech.
Germech's efforts in Collegians' 43-33 victory saw her named as the player of the match.
Life in the Collegians circle was difficult thanks to the efforts of both Germech and goal keeper Sam Thompson, who didn't have an easy task marking Panthers shooter Danita Lane.
Collegians got off to an excellent start while the weather was still dry and managed to hold their advantage for the remainder of the game.
Germech said there was no need for the team to play themselves into the match, with everyone in sync from the opening seconds.
"It's amazing. We just clicked from the opening minutes of the game," she said.

"Everyone just played so well. There were no mistakes."
Collegians may have gone into the game as defending champions but they were looking for revenge after Panthers won the two most recent encounters between the clubs.
Mystified were evidently fired up in the opening quarter and channelled their energy into some clinical netball.

Germech said that quality was maintained even when the speed of the game slowed down.
"Even when it started raining we made sure we kept the ball safe and didn't throw silly passes," she said.
"We just had to get the ball safely to our shooters because they were doing an amazing job.
"We a team breakfast this morning where we talked about playing our own game. That's what we did."
