Pawchella is being billed as a pet-friendly music festival, inviting dogs along with their owners to enjoy an afternoon of live entertainment from a bumper lineup of musicians.
The event is set to double as a fundraiser, with proceeds set to go towards the Bathurst Branch of the RSPCA in order to raise awareness for animal welfare.
The Victoria brand and event manager Meg McKenna said the event will promote the inclusivity of dogs at local venues.
"Since reopening the venue, we've wanted to host an event that showcases our backyard area as a pet-friendly environment," Ms McKenna said.
"The artists we've chosen for the event have all expressed an admiration for dogs and we're looking forward to raising funds for a worthwhile cause."
Sydney-based act Emma and the Cosy Groove will headline the event, accompanied by local artists Smith & Jones, Joey Simmons, Brooke Webb, Jasmine Gold and Tristan West.
RSPCA Bathurst Branch president Margaret Gaal said the funds raised will aid programs such as the Community Animal Welfare Scheme [CAWS], which offers subsidised desexing, microchipping and vaccination services for low-income earners.
"This event is a terrific idea and it's a common sight in Europe to see dogs enjoying a nice meal with their owners," Ms Gaal said.
Pawchella will get under way from 11am. Tickets cost $20 for adults and $15 for concession [children and dogs have free entry].
