The Saints centre was the go-to man in the backline for Pat's during a tough year in which the team won just four of their 16 matches.
For his efforts in a tough season Squire was named as both the best and fairest and the player's player for 2019.
"I was honoured. I was really surprised to get it," Squire said.
"I'd say there were three to four other people who would have definitely deserved to win it."
Squire and the Saints have work ahead of them in order to turn their fortunes around in premier league.
However, Squire saw positive signs in the back end of the season and is hopeful some of that football can carry over to 2020.
"We started to build towards the back end of the season and hopefully that can lead to a better result next year," he said.
"This is one of the best clubs I've been at. We have the girls playing earlier in the day but by the time we're running on in first grade they're still all there cheering us on. You can't question that culture.
"I think Zac [Merritt, new coach] will bring a lot to the team. I'm hoping it will be a good year under him."
Squire's partner in the centres, Chris Kirby, was also rewarded for a strong showing over the course of the year by being named best back.
Veteran Mick Hawkings was named best forward while the coaches award went to Tom Clyburn.
There were no surprises among the award winners across the Saints' champion league tag and under 18s teams.
Meredith Jones was named best and fairest in league tag while best on ground in the grand final, Erin Naden, was the player's player.
Naden also the claimed the prestigious Stubby Collitts Medal for club player of the year.
Paige Hay won the coaches award and Amy Copping was most improved.
The under 18s best on ground winner Nic Barlow was also his side's player's player while the best and fairest title went the way of Ash Cosgrove.
Barlow was also best forward and Zane Watson (coaches award) and Jayden Fisher (best back) were also award winners.
Jacob Parslow (best and fairest), Corey Averio (player's player), Jared Colling (coaches award), Cooper Neilsen (best back) and Adrian Averio (best forward) were the first division recipients.
Naden wasn't the only player to double up with a team and perpetual award.
Barlow was awarded the Grey Halos Medal for old boys club player of the year.
Emily Rhynehart (most dedicated league tag) and Mish Somers (best role model) kept the honours coming for the champion ladies side.
Gerard Toole and Ben Bracken were the Rod Cook Medal winners (first division managers award) and Tyson Medlyn took home the Jack Arrow Medal (best club person).
