Scots All Saints College is committed to building the foundation for a lifelong love of learning from an early age.

They have built a strong reputation in the local community for providing a school readiness program with a specially designed Pre-Kindergarten program to develop children physically, emotionally and academically so they are ready to start Kindergarten with confidence.

As the only school readiness program for four and five-year-olds in Bathurst of its kind, teachers offer opportunities to challenge, inspire and motivate children to explore and learning in preparation for Kindergarten.

Children have the time and space to work on social skills though developmental play, group activities and interacting with their peers. The rich variety of experience on offer each day through indoor and outdoor learning environments, helps to guide and support children as they develop emotional maturity in their own time.

Pre-Kindergarten is conveniently located within the picturesque grounds of All Saints Campus and Scots Campus. With access to the school setting, resources and facilities such as the on-campus farm, sports, ovals, library and connection to the Junior School program, children can step-up to Kindergarten with confidence and familiarity of the Kindergarten environment.

Parents enjoy the benefit of the Pre-Kindergarten Program including flexible options for two, three, four and five days to cater to parent's preferences, after hours care to 6pm daily and four affordable fee payments per year.

Ben and Anna Gillies have their second child, Patrick currently attending the Pre-K four-day program at the Scots Campus and value the experienced and caring nature of the teachers.

"The Pre-Kindergarten Program at the Scots Campus has prepared our eldest two children academically and socially for the transition into Kindergarten," Mr Gillies said.

"The teachers have a passion and drive to provide the best program of its type in Bathurst, giving individual attention to develop key learning areas," he continued.

"The Scots Campus is convenient and accessible as we live on the eastern side of the river. I would recommend the Pre-K program to any parent with a child entering Kindergarten in 2021."

Ms Michelle Marwick said the Scots All Saints Pre-K program has been a very important step in the transition to school for her son, Thomas which she would recommend to other parents.

"I have watched my son grow in confidence, skill and self- motivation by attending the Pre-K program. Pre- K has taught him the skills needed in Kindergarten which I feel will make that transition less daunting for him," Ms Marwick said.

"I would always ask my son at the end of each day what he liked best about his day at school. The stand out responses were library time, reading and story time, learning a group song/dance or simply just 'playing'.

"For him the day felt happy and filled with play and collaboration with his peers. This is why Pre-K, as a step before Kindergarten really works. It provides an environment which is fun and in my option this nurtures learning," she continued.

Children can participate in indoor and outdoor learning opportunities. The fourth term is dedicated to developing a routine reflective of the school year for a more natural progression to staring Kindergarten.

"Pre-K offers a fun learning experience your children," Ms Marwick.

"They are gently introduced and taught the age appropriate skills to cope with following year in kindergarten and the best thing is they are happy and having fun."

A new Scots All Saints College Pre-Kindergarten Framework has been developed by our academic team to outline the curriculum and value of our new Pre-Kindergarten program.

Based on evidence-based research that shows children who experience a smooth and harmonious transition between early childhood settings and primary school do better in the long term - both at school and in their wellbeing, this framework is a valuable reference guide for parents and is now available on our College website via this link.

There are limited places available for Pre-Kindergarten 2020. Pre-Kindergarten Orientation Day is coming up in mid-November where all enrolled students are invited to come along for a day of fun, familiarisation and to make new friends.
