PETStock Bathurst will provide a microchipping service for $10, heavily discounted from the usual price, when it holds its Microchip Blitz on Saturday, October 19.
PETstock says the blitz is part of a wider mission to break the cycle of pets being lost.

It is also the law to have dogs and cats microchipped at three months of age.
Mr Bacon said the blitz is a good opportunity to bring in new pets that have not been microchipped or older pets that may have been strays.
"The problem is it's [microchipping] not always affordable, so it's really good that we can do this for just $10 for all animals," he said.
"We've seen a decrease already in missing cats and dogs at the pound."
Mr Bacon said pet owners will also be able to get pet health and wellbeing advice during the Microchip Blitz day.
"It's a great way to get your pets to have a bit of socialisation," he said.
"It's also a great way for owners to see how it's done, which you can't do at a clinic.
"It gives the owners a better understanding of the process and why it's being done."
PETstock says the reduction in the number of pets being brought to the Microchip Blitz over the past four years shows fewer Australian pets remain without microchips.
Bathurst PETstock has microchipped more than 50 pets in the last two blitzes.
