THIS year we've spotted many first timers at Mount Panorama for the Bathurst 1000.
These people may have watched it on television year after year, but this is the first time they've joined thousands in a pilgrimage to watch the Great Race live.
Then there's people like Bruce Wykes who has been coming to Mount Panorama since Peter Brock's first win back in 1972.
"That's when he first started off being a legend," he said.
Taree woman Leah Webster said she was a "Bathurst 1000 virgin" as this was her first year at Mount Panorama for Race Week.
Brisbane boys Craig Claxton and Russ Bull have racked up 19 years of Bathurst 1000s between them.
"I first came here in 2001 and then I brought Russ up in 2014," Mr Claxton said.

And his visits to Bathurst have prompted him to come back to the area with his family on holidays.
"In 2005 I started exploring the area with the family and we went to Jenolan Caves, Hill End and Sofala," Mr Claxton said.
"I've also brought the kids down for the 12 Hour.
"There's nothing like waking up in a tent and hearing the sounds of cars racing around the Mount, it's just magic."
