THEY may have travelled halfway across Australia to experience their first Bathurst 1000, but three generations of Driver family are loving every minute of it.
It took them three days to travel 2500 kilometres from their home in Alice Springs and they arrived in Bathurst on an overcast and drizzling Tuesday afternoon.
Twelve-year-old Leah Driver is such a motorsport fan that she races junior sedans back home and admits she's keen to see Jamie Whincup win the Great Race this year.
Her father Wayne has wanted to come to Mount Panorama to see the Bathurst 1000 his whole life.
"It's a long race and the excitement of the changes in the race during the six hours means that anything could happen," he said.
