The talk, NDIS - How the law can help, is a joint initiative of Bathurst Library, Legal Aid NSW and Find Legal Answers, a free legal information program run by the State Library of NSW.
Library services manager Patou Clerc said the talk is open to all members of the community who want to learn more about the NDIS and how they can challenge decisions made by its governing body, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
"The talk will be presented by a Legal Aid NSW lawyer who will explain the NDIS and what you can do if you are unhappy with a decision," Ms Clerc said.
"Whether you have a disability yourself or are a carer or family member of someone who does, this is a great opportunity to find out more about your rights and the different ways the law can assist."

Common reasons for challenging an NDIA decision include dissatisfaction with the funding received or the type of services and support that the NDIS will pay for.
However, there are strict time guidelines during this process.
NDIS - How the law can help will be held at Bathurst Library on Friday, October 18 at 11am.
Bookings are essential. Register via eventbrite.com.au or phone the library on 6333 6281.
