And it's not the first time he's done it.

Preston in Lancashire, England might by his home, but Mr Clark admits he has a love of V8 racing and he said there's nothing like it "back home".

His first visit to Mount Panorama for the Great Race was back in 2009 and he loved it so much that he's here again.

"I always enjoyed watching it on TV with my Dad," he said.

"We'd get a half-hour highlight of the race [in the United Kingdom] and it was always on my bucket list to come here."

"You've got the greatest circuit in the world, there's not too many circuits where you make a mistake and end up into a wall.

"Some of the best drivers in the world get here thinking they can drive, then they realise how hard it is."

Mr Clark hired a motorhome in Sydney and this week he's calling a site at the Reid and Sulman Campground home.

"Everyone's just so friendly," he said.

While Mr Clark's love of V8 racing is huge, he flew into Australia last week just in time to watch the rugby league grand final between the Canberra Raiders and the Sydney Roosters.

"I follow Melbourne Storm and I was going for the Raiders [during the grand final] because two of the players come from the team I follow at home," he said.

Those players are Ryan Sutton and John Bateman, and the team they once played for is the Wigan Warriors which are based in Wigan, England.
