THOUSANDS of race fans lined William and Russell streets on Wednesday as the Bathurst 1000 extravaganza rolled into town once more.
The transporter and drivers' parade marks the official start of Race Week and attracted one of the biggest crowds for many years.
The first truck in the transporter convoy carried the Ballinger Bathurst signage in honour of Bathurst man Dane Ballinger, who died in a crash on the north coast a month ago.

Then came the Supercars teams' transporters, followed by open-top cars carrying the drivers for Sunday's Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
Returning champions Steven Richards and Craig Lowndes were first and last, respectively, in the parade and got some of the biggest cheers from the crowds.
