White Ribbon Australia, set up in 2007 to raise awareness of and to fight domestic violence in Australia, was forced into liquidation last Thursday following an "analysis of the organisation's future sustainability".
The organisation was reportedly struggling with debts of more than $800,000 and its demise raised questions over what would become of signature events such as White Ribbon Day that had been scheduled for November 22 this year.
One of those was a White Ribbon Day event planned by Bathurst police at the base of Mount Panorama.

Police had been in discussions with Bathurst Regional Council about closing Pit Straight from Murray's Corner to Hell Corner for four hours on Friday, November 22 to allow a gathering of service and community representatives, including the chance to be part of a "human white ribbon" to highlight the issue of domestic violence.
Chifley Police District has confirmed the event will go ahead and has urged the community to become involved.
"Bathurst police will still be hosting the Community Engagement Day on Friday 22nd November at Mount Panorama regardless of the collapse of the White Ribbon organisation," Chifley Police District posted in a statement on its Facebook page.
"We will continue to support the principles of White Ribbon and say no to domestic violence in our communities."
The White Ribbon Day event will feature a number of local services including NSW Police, NSW Fire and Rescue, NSW Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Service, Traffic and Highway Patrol and the Mounted Police.
There will be an "all white" photo shoot at 11am and a free sausage sizzle afterwards.
Community members wanting to get involved are asked to meet on Pit Straight by 10.30am.
