TRAFFIC remains affected in Bathurst following an early morning truck fire that destroyed a trailer and its contents.
Emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway at Kelso at 4.50am on Friday following reports of a blaze.
Fire and Rescue NSW Bathurst firefighter Jason Schnepf was among the crews on scene and said the truck driver had pulled over and detached the prime mover from the trailer.

"He was coming through the roundabout heading towards Dubbo and he looked in the review mirror and saw all this smoke," he said.
"The road was completely blocked for a short period of time in both directions," he said.
Mr Schnepf said the trailer was carrying mixed goods including motorcycles, timber and eggs.
There was no fire damage to prime mover, roadway or surrounding areas. There were no reported injuries.
The blaze occurred near the intersection of Pat O'Leary Drive and at 7.50am on Friday one westbound lane remains closed to motorists.
