I AM writing to recognise and thank the beautiful Ngangkari healers who came to Bathurst to offer their traditional Indigenous healing practices that have been around for 60,000 years.

I am pleased to say that I was one of the lucky ones who was able to get in to see them at the Neighbourhood Centre and receive their healing.
The Ngangkari healers come all the way from the remote parts of South Australia and always offer their services for free even though they are recognised as Indigenous doctors.
OTHER RECENT LETTERS TO THE EDITOR:
I just wanted to say that it was a beautiful experience and I think that all Indigenous wisdom and ways of healing should be embraced as a valuable type of alternative medicine which could coincide right alongside western medicine.
As a non-Indigenous person, I have complete respect for all the kinds of Indigenous ways of life and culture and I would like to say thank you to those healers and elders who allow others to experience it.
I have much respect and gratitude for all of you. We all have much to learn from you.
