Sydney man Michael Parsons is among a team of six people who volunteer with Supercars during the Bathurst 1000 to pull stuck cars out of the sand traps.
He's armed with a huge tractor-like machine called a Manitou that can pull vehicles out of the sand, it also has a hydraulic lift if required.

"We go out onto the track and hook them up and pull them out," Mr Parsons said of cars that become stuck in the sand.
When asked why he has volunteered his time for the past three years to perform such a role, Mr Parsons said the answer was easy.

"I love motorsport and you get a better view and you get swapped around the track to different positions during the week," he said.
"If us volunteers didn't do this, it wouldn't go ahead."
