In years gone by, it was a common sight to see people selling firewood and other sorts of goods on the highway and other locations throughout Bathurst.
That's all changed in 2019 though, after Bathurst Regional Council allocated space at Morse Park for people to sell their firewood and other goods.
One person who has been selling his goods during Race Week is Grafton local Doug Davis.
He's been coming to Bathurst for seven years now, selling his camping stoves, which are made out of old gas cylinders.
"I've sold over 500 across the years, but I've sold a few around the North Coast too," he said.
"This year I've brought 55 to sell."
Molong's Blake Mobbs has been selling ironbark firewood, which he gets from his own property, at the Bathurst 1000 for "five to six years".
"We sold out last year and every year we've been, but we don't bring much," he said.
