A 201,975-strong crowd attended Mount Panorama over the four days to eventually see Scott McLaughlin and Alexandre Premat take out their maiden Bathurst 1000 crown for Ford's Shell V-Power Racing Team.
According to Supercars, it was the fifth year in a row the Bathurst 1000 has attracted a crowd of over 200,000 people, with more than 45,000 attending each day of the event.
"Over a million fans have walked through the gates since 2015 - that's a fantastic achievement for Supercars and Bathurst," Supercars chief executive officer Sean Seamer said.
"The wider community here has battled through significant drought conditions recently, so to be welcomed back the way we have this year has really been appreciated," Mr Seamer said.
With the sun shining brightly and the crowd maintaining a positive atmosphere throughout the entire day, Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke said he couldn't have hoped for anything better.
"When you get a large crowd like this to Mount Panorama each year, it showcases Bathurst's credentials as a premier tourist destination," Cr Bourke said.
"The drivers, the visitors, the smell of fuel: there's nothing quite like the suspense of the Bathurst 1000."
Federal member for Calare Andrew Gee said this year's event has provided some pleasing returns for local business owners.
"A lot of business owners said their clientele has consisted of both race fans and people interested in seeing and experiencing the wider Bathurst region," Mr Gee said.
"The message is clearly getting out there to visitors that there's more to Bathurst than Mount Panorama, and the event provides an enormous economic boost for the region."
State member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the Bathurst 1000 experience is enhanced by the dramatic nature of the event.
"You just don't know what's going to happen towards the end of the race and I think those nail-biting finishes make the Bathurst 1000 such a grand spectacle," Mr Toole said.
"This is one of the premier racing circuits in the world, and it never fails to fill the Bathurst community with excitement."
