With his Hunter Cup and Inter Dominion runner-up results last season, Chris Frisby's Our Uncle Sam announced himself as the city's greatest pacer since Smooth Satin.
And there's plenty of time for him to add to his glowing resume.
Our Uncle Sam will likely go out at absurdly low odds for Wednesday night's GC33 3YO Sustaining 31 Oct Pace (2,260 metres), even against a quality open-class field.
If his two trials are anything to go by then racing fans can expect the same old super star Our Uncle Sam.
In his opening trial Our Uncle Sam saw off challenges from former Breeders Challenge champion Conviction and an improving Mymatepog to win in 1:54.5.
In the second trial Our Uncle Sam intentionally gave up a 20m handicap to the field and still cruised home in first.
"He was trialling against horses who aren't as good as him in that second one, but in the first one he beat Conviction and Mymatepog, and they've since gone on and won," Frisby said.
"I reckon he looks even bigger and stronger now, but he's still around the same weight as what he was before, around 460.
"Hopefully he'll chase them around like he did last year in the Hunter Cup and those sorts of races."
Frisby's Sportswriter x Rooftop Fairy runner goes out from gate five in this Wednesday's warm up.
Anthony Frisby has the drive on Our Uncle Sam, and he'll likely be keeping close tabs on Steve Tunrbull's Modern Maestro to his inside.

Turnbull's runner looks to be the biggest threat for an upset victory.
Our Uncle Sam will still have an opportunity to come across and take control of the race.
Frisby also has Our Wall Street Wolf in contention, starting just outside his stablemate.
"I'm not really sure what they'll do. I don't like using too much too early but I'll leave that decision to Anthony," Frisby said.
"I'll let him make the decision and I'll sit back and complain after the race," he laughed.
Our Uncle Sam currently rates as a $26 shot for the New Zealand Cup, which says a lot for the quality of the country's premier event.
Spankem ($2.50), Ultimate Sniper ($5) and Thefixer ($5.50) currently lead the market for the $750,000 Group 1 classic.
This Wednesday night's nine-race meeting starts at 6.08pm.
Our Uncle Sam goes around in the open-class event from 8.43pm.
