His knowledge and prompt action, the diagnostic tests he requested, the treatment, his communication to me and consultation with the wider multidisciplinary healthcare team was exceptional.
Even a referral to a local ophthalmologist the next day!
Throughout the day, each of the staff I encountered, from nursing, X-ray and pathology to kitchen, surgical and post-operative, were a credit to themselves and the hospital.
The following day was no different with the ophthalmologist and staff I encountered at the local clinic.
His communication, empathy, care and attention to detail and to my safety for the journey back to Adelaide were very reassuring.
He wrote a comprehensive report for me to take on the journey in case I needed to seek medical attention.
He also phoned my GP in Adelaide to give her a verbal report of the situation.
This experience of care and medical intervention has supported me throughout an experience of shock and disorientation in an unfamiliar place.
I want to thank everyone involved and can only encourage you to keep up this amazing standard of healthcare for your community and those who are lucky enough to be passing through Bathurst in a time of need.
