The book, entitled Bathurst on a Plate, will feature stories and images of local cancer survivors as they share their favourite recipes in a collection to inspire hope among members of the community touched by cancer.
Bathurst Beaters, who formed earlier this year, will engage with local businesses and community members in the coming weeks to gather as much support as possible.
The cookbook project has been championed by Bathurst Beaters president Noorjehan Merchant, who said cancer research is urgently needed to alleviate the suffering of patients throughout the community.
"We have a print deadline of February 2020 and our goal is to gather as much support as we can to help with production costs in order to reach our target for vital cancer research," Ms Merchant said.
"The cookbook will have a real Bathurst flavour, focusing on four of our warrior women who have successfully beaten cancer."
Individuals and businesses can support the project through sponsoring a page in the cookbook for $250, a survivor image for $1000 or making a tax-deductible donation of $2 or over.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has estimated breast cancer will become the most commonly diagnosed form in 2019.
