Long-term chairman Bob Triming chose not to run for the position again this year and has stepped down from the committee all together.
His former vice chairperson, Irene Hancock, has taken over the reins.
She formerly shared the vice chairperson role with Blake Aubin, who retained the position in the election.
Mr Triming doubled as the secretary while chairperson of BRAC, but that role has now gone to Vicki Fallon.
Ms Hancock said she wouldn't have put her hand up for the role of chairperson if she had to be secretary as well. She praised Ms Fallon for taking up the job.
"I'm not a Bob, I couldn't do both jobs. I've got a computer, but I'm a terrible typer. Vicki is wonderful and has been secretary for other groups before," Ms Hancock said.
Ms Hancock, who relies on a wheelchair, has been a member of the access committee for close to two years.
She has a long history of involvement with community groups and likes to keep herself busy.
Mr Triming had approached her about being his successor and she decided to put her name forward.
Even though Mr Triming will be stepping away from the committee, Ms Hancock said she'll still be reaching out to him for guidance, particularly when it comes to understanding disability legislation.
"It's good for Bob - he has put so much effort in - that we consult with him if we are concerned with a building or something like that," Ms Hancock said.
In the past, BRAC has had trouble with finding people to take on roles and there occasionally has been conflict between members.
This new executive, however, is expected to work together very well.
"Blake and I have been working together under Bob for a few years now and Vicki is a delightful lady," Ms Hancock said.
With the election out of the way, the committee can move forward with other access matters.
Ms Hancock said that anyone interested in accessibility, including people with disability and carers, are invited to join the committee at any time.
