If you came of age or grew up in the 70s, this date turned out to be quite significant with the first screening of Countdown on ABC TV.
This week, Retro Top 40 with Tim Williams will be celebrating the 45th anniversary of this most successful television music program.
Tim will showcase many Australian artists who got their big break on the show, including AC/DC, Olivia Newton-John, INXS, Dragon, Kylie Minogue and Wa Wa Nee.
Tune in at 4pm Saturday.
Awards achiever
ONE of 2MCE's favourite programs, Cool Climate Living, was a finalist in the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia Best Program awards last week.
Unfortunately, we didn't come home with a trophy, but it was a special night to see a radio program produced locally, by locals and featuring local stories, in such esteemed company.
Tune in Fridays at 11am to hear about life in your community.
On breaky menu
NEXT week our Schools On Breaky segment will feature students from St Stanislaus' College co-hosting with Tim Williams.
Three young men from Stannies will read the weather and choose some great music for you. They'll also tell you about what's happening at the school.
2MCE is thrilled to have schools across the region in the studio and if you'd like to see who's been in, check out the Schools album on our 2MCE Facebook page.
Tune in from 8am Monday.
