Almost a year on from the launch of Uber in Bathurst, a local driver has started a Facebook page for fellow ride-sharing contractors to share their availability with the community.
Garry Davis signed up as an Uber driver three weeks ago and launched the 'UberBathurst' page soon after in a bid to better promote the existence of the ride-sharing service in the region.
"I think certain people have been disappointed that an Uber isn't readily available during the day and hopefully this Facebook page can open up lines of communication," Mr Davis said.
"There's an estimated six to 10 Uber drivers here in Bathurst, and having a central availability hub could help keep people more informed of our services."

Bathurst was one of six regional centres to welcome Uber in December last year, alongside Orange, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga and Port Macquarie.
Mr Davis said the Facebook page could also provide an opportunity for other Uber drivers in Bathurst to further co-ordinate their services.
"We don't receive a lot of information from Uber on other drivers in the area, so it would be nice to reach out to others offering the service in Bathurst," he said.
"The Facebook page is open to everyone and if more drivers add their hours of operation, we'll hopefully be able to provide more clarity around our availability."
Mr Davis said most of his customers have reacted positively to using Uber.
He said the price and promptness of available vehicles were key highlights.
"I had some people in the car the other night who enjoy an Uber because they're on time and the driver is always happy to talk," he said.
"Everyone I have picked up has offered nothing but praise, and would like to see Uber become more prevalent in Bathurst."
A spokesperson from Uber said there has been a positive response from the Bathurst community in the year since the ride-sharing app launched.
"People are increasingly logging onto the Uber app and demand was especially high during the Bathurst 1000 last month," the spokesperson said.
"We have seen dozens of Bathurst drivers sign up and go through our background checks and accreditation process.
"Ride-sharing offers people in the community the opportunity to earn extra income while having the flexibility of being their own boss."
