Students from Bathurst's six secondary institutions stepped into school grounds for the final time yesterday to complete their last Higher School Certificate [HSC] exams, including physics and textiles/design.
The completion of the three-hour HSC physics paper provided welcome relief for outgoing St Stanislaus' College Year 12 students after a grueling month of revision, essays and problem solving.
Josh Wong said he was looking forward to winding down after a busy period of study.
"The HSC period has been rather stressful at times, but interesting nonetheless," Josh said.
"I've received some university offers already, but I'm keen for a break."
Lachlan Christie-Johnston said it would take a while to sink in before the realisation that his schooling has come to an end.
"Its been six long years, and I'm looking forward to moving on to something new," Lachlan said.
"The plan is to start university straight away, I just need the marks now."
Grayson Haynes hopes to use the extra time at his disposal to weigh up the options for future career pathways.
"I'm eager to spend plenty of time relaxing and recharging after a busy year," Grayson said.
"It feels weird to be wearing the school uniform for the last time, but I'm looking forward to all this time off to spend on myself."
Results for the 2019 HSC will be released to students across the state on Tuesday, December 17.
