Hammer, whose debut novel Scrublands won the UK Crime Writers' Association 2019 Dagger, will discuss his follow-up effort Silver at an event at the Oxford Hotel.
He will be in conversation with writer and journalist James Knight, who is the author of 12 non-fiction books, including the recent Back On Track.
Both Hammer and Knight are graduates of Charles Sturt University Bathurst.
Hammer studied at Bathurst in the early 1980s and went on to enjoy a successful career as a roving foreign correspondent for SBS's Dateline, chief political correspondent for The Bulletin and a senior political journalist for The Age.
He wrote two non-fiction books before turning to writing two of the biggest-selling Australian crime novels of recent years.
Hammer and Knight will be in conversation on Tuesday, November 19 at the Piper Function Room, Oxford Hotel at 6pm.
