The Eglinton RFS raised $6373 towards the cause, with the entire event accumulating $748,706 for MND researchers at Macquarie University.
Mr Nelson said the event managed to attract a considerable turnout considering the current bushfire emergency in NSW and Queensland.
"The event was nearly cancelled due to the bushfires but despite the reduced numbers, everyone was dedicated to take the climb for a worthwhile cause," he said.
"On the same day, we sent a truck up to the NSW mid-north coast to assist in the firefighting effort, and we're on standby for further fire activity."
Mr Evans completed the climb in under 20 minutes and said the event was a fulfilling experience for all involved.
"As firefighters, we go outside of our comfort zone to assist others, and this event is synonymous with our core motivations," he said.
"We enjoyed participating in the tower climb and we look forward to our continued association with this event in the years ahead."
