The building became defunct earlier this year after staff moved into the newly-constructed Bathurst Ambulance Station in Commonwealth Street.
Council became the owner of the old site, but hasn't figured out what to do with it.
Cr Christian says that, if discussions aren't had, "one of the most beautiful buildings in the CBD" will go the same way as the old TAFE Building.
"We can't just let it sit there and go rotten like the old TAFE building," he said.
He has requested that council hold a working party meeting to discuss possible uses for the building and come up with "clear direction" for its future.
Talk has previously been around community use, but all options are on the table.
"With the expansion of council staff, I would have no objection to it being used for offices for council, but I'm open to any ideas at the moment and that's why I think we need to have a working party," Cr Christian said.
