LISA Griffith produced her best bowling performance of the Women's Big Bash season thus far, but she and her Sydney Thunder team-mates still went down in a thriller against the Perth Scorchers on Tuesday night.

Returning to the Thunder line-up for the match at the WACA, Bathurst quick Griffith and her fellow bowlers were solid with the ball as they restricted the hosts to 6-116 in the Twenty20 match.
However, Thunder fell 11 runs short in the chase to suffer their third loss of the season and miss out on a chance to claim outright first on the ladder.
Griffith played in Thunder's first four matches of the season. She was not used in the match against the Melbourne Stars, while in the clashes with Sydney Sixers, Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Renegades bowled just one over and was expensive.
However, she mixed up her lengths nicely at the WACA when earning another start and skipper Rachael Hayes rewarded Griffith by giving her the maximum four overs.
After being thrown the ball for the first time in the ninth over, she did not concede a single boundary, bowled five dot balls and finished with 0-23.
While not being able to claim the 10th WBBL wicket of her career, Griffith did beat Australian and Perth captain Meg Lanning in her first over with a back of the length delivery. She also drew a number of miscued shots from Heather Graham.
The next challenge for Griffith and her team-mates comes on Friday night when meeting the Sixers at Drummoyne Oval in the second Sydney Smash of the season.
