How can you deflect or shut down virtually all the climate change questions that have been directed at you in the last few days?

"Thoughts and prayers" really don't cut it any more. These fires are a terrifying, life-destroying wake-up call.

The climate science is established, natural disasters like these fires will only increase in frequency and become more intense as our climate warms and dries.

Listen to the people, the majority of Australians want climate action and we want it now.

Listen to the scientists, the science is settled and compelling.

Listen to our First Nations people, they've sustainably managed this land for more than 60,000 years.

Or, don't even listen, just look. Look at your own two kids, at their young faces. What sort of world do you want to leave to them?

ScoMo, I've heard you say: "Australia is a global leader in heroically fighting fires like these." Well, how about we also heroically become a global leader in acting on climate change?

The fires have tragically cost human life. People's homes. And, more than likely, the functional extinction of local koala populations.

I'm curious to see what the cost to our economy will have been, too, because apparently money is all your COALition seems to care about.

I mean, the closed schools, required medical care, burnt train lines and highways, time away from work, clean-up effort, use of the ADF, etc seems far more disruptive than any recent climate change protests or market boycotts - you know, the ones you pollies have been trying to outlaw.

I've never voted for your party, ScoMo, but obviously many do. And now I see many of them also speaking out.

So get it together, and get real about climate change action.
