On Thursday, before her first game of the W-League season, Halloway was named captain of the Western Sydney Wanderers, the club she's been at since 2015, while also playing for the Illawarra Stingrays.
Wanderers coach Dean Heffernan said naming Halloway as captain for the 2019-20 wasn't a hard decision.
"She's a top person and gets the team together, helps with the type of environment and mentality we are trying to build here," he said.
Halloway was just one of four Wanderers players that were retained from the 2018-19 campaign.
And her first match as captain ended with a fantastic result, as 17-year-old Kyra Cooney-Cross scored a 92nd minute free-kick winner to give the Wanderers a 2-1 win against Adelaide United at Marconi Stadium on Thursday night.
